Characteristics of Detachable gooseneck lowbed semi-trailer
Detachable gooseneck lowbed semi-trailer is usually used to transport heavy vehicles (such as tractors, buses, special vehicles, etc.), rail vehicles, mining machinery, forestry machinery, agricultural machinery (such as harvesters, wheeled tractors, conveyors, etc.), engineering machinery (such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, pavers, cranes, etc.) and other heavy cargo. The lower the center of gravity, the better the stability and safety, and the stronger the ability to transport ultra-high cargo and pass overhead obstacles.
Low flatbed semi-trailer usually adopts a concave beam (or well shaped) frame, which means that the front section of the frame is a goose neck (the traction pin at the front end of the goose neck is connected to the traction saddle on the tractor, and the rear end of the goose neck is connected to the semi-trailer frame), the middle section is the cargo platform (the lowest part of the frame), and the rear section is the wheel frame (including the wheels).
When loading mechanical equipment onto a regular low flatbed or fixed goose neck low flatbed semi-trailer, it is usually done from the rear end of the semi-trailer, that is, by moving the mechanical equipment from the rear frame or removing the wheels, and then fixing the mechanical equipment onto the semi-trailer. Due to the fact that the rear wheel frame is always positioned higher than the shipping platform, this loading method has many drawbacks. Firstly, when moving mechanical equipment from the rear wheel frame, it is necessary to provide a suitable slope or ladder, and if necessary, a considerable length of ladder is needed to provide a slope suitable for the up and down of heavy mechanical equipment. By loading in this way, mechanical equipment is prone to slipping or tipping off from the ladder; When it leaves the ramp, it is also prone to falling onto the semi-trailer cargo platform, causing excessive impact loads on the platform. If the wheels are removed and the semi-trailer body touches the ground to load mechanical equipment, a winch or lifting mechanism must be used to lift the body back to a height where the wheels can be reinstalled. Therefore, additional equipment is required. This operation is time-consuming and carries certain risks. In addition to loading and unloading from the rear of the low flatbed semi-trailer, it can also be loaded and unloaded from both sides. There are also many defects in loading and unloading from both sides, for example, loading and unloading operations require a wider operating area, which is difficult to achieve under general operating conditions. In addition, loading and unloading from both sides is only applicable to certain specific goods, such as tracked self-propelled mechanical equipment (which generally requires the use of sleepers to provide suitable slopes during loading and unloading, and the mechanical equipment is prone to damage the cargo platform or cause uneven loading when turning direction on the cargo platform) or heavy and oversized goods (such as limited lifting height required for loading and unloading goods). Due to the potential drawbacks of the above-mentioned loading and unloading methods, the front loading and unloading method is currently used to eliminate these issues, and it has become the preferred transportation method for heavy machinery and equipment.
